- With Tony of NUFAN -
- Questions by Jez -

1. Who is 'them' referring to in the 'keep them confused'?
It's a lyric from a song called 'history defeats' that will be on the EP. We loved the sound of the title. In context to the song it was directed at the general public in America.

2. If you could play ONE of your tracks on the new album to the George Bush, what would it be?
I guess, It's tragic.

3. Who are the funniest band you've ever toured with?
I can't really pick one there are so many.It wouldn't be fair to the people who just think they're funny.

4. If you had to pick your top 3 favourite venues to play from anywhere in world, what would they be?
The metro in Chicago, the liquid room in Tokyo, and the boardwalk in Sacramento.

5. What sparked Tony to make drastic changes to his singing style in the two years separating Making Friends and More Betterness?
I think it was just progression, I didn't really think about it at the time. The songs became more melodic so I think everything on that record got softened up a bit. I quit smoking as well, which helps quite a bit.

6. Who would you consider to be the greatest musician(s) of all time? or do you think music is not something that can be graded like that?
Well, there are so different kinds of musicians it wouldn't be fair to just say one. Really good drummers always amaze me, I can't comprehend that skill level.

7. Would the direction you took after 'Making Friends' - 'More Betterness' be any different if Chris Shifflett was still apart of the band?
Well, chris played on more betterness and we were all kind of in the groove before he left. But I don't think it changed much sound wise to NUFAN. He's a great guitarist though and his style and contribution is missed personally.

8. Where would you like to see NUFAN going in the future, musically speaking?
Weirder , heavier, darker, yet still melodic. More musically inclined with more dynamics through bizarre experimentation.

9. As far as other bands, Who are NUFAN's best friends?
I don't talk to a lot of people in bands, not by choice, it just doesn't work out that way for me. Fat Mike has always been a good friend to me. I e-mail a few people here and there. My cell phone probably has about 4 people from other bands in the phone book.

10. If you could sum up 'Keep Them Confused' in one sentence, what would you say?
I guess that I'm never totally satisfied with any record we do but I am very proud of this one.
